A Few of My Favorite Things: Vital Proteins

Here’s another company with products I use every single day. I blend my coffee with their grass-fed gelatin every morning. I make smoothies with their collagen. I also have been venturing into experimenting with some healthy fruit gummies and dairy free non-additive cheese with their gelatin, which I’ll be posting on later and you’ll get free samples of at the next open house. 

On Frothy Coffee: Why do I add gelatin-powder? It makes it super frothy and creamy without any milks or dairy, to which I have a severe allergy. But the main reason is for digestion, my joints, and my immune system.

It was not too long ago that it was so painful to get out of bed due to my joints. My doctor was investigating and we were going through many tests to find out why I was having such severe joint pain and inflammation at twenty-seven years old. My workouts had become more and more difficult, but that was the least of my worries. I was fatigued, exhausted, and in more pain that I even realized until I actually saw improvement. Now I look back and wonder how I moved. 

My doctor still thinks it is autoimmune related. Though Rheumatoid Arthritis was a big possibility–I had something come up in my blood work suggesting it was RA–RA was ruled out by a rheumatologist. My doctor and team suggest and believe it to be autoimmune related. I’m still waiting to see the immunologist and endocrinologist in May, that’s the nearest appointment.

Note here:   When it comes to your health, you have to take the bull by the horns. You are responsible for your health. The medical field treats illness. Medicines often bandage up and treat the symptoms, but aren’t a solution to the root of the problem. Honestly, many times it’s a nutritional deficit that causes disease. It’s not calories or “food,” but proper nutrition that is lacking in our diets. 

Particularly in America, we consume more calories empty of any real nutrition to deposit information into our cells to instruct them how to behave. We begin to starve nutritionally, though we have the calories, and wonder why we are overweight. This is due to the body’s response to the counterfeit “food” we’ve been consuming. I must redirect before I open that topic any further, because there is much to be said on it.

So I started researching. I started trying bone-broth proteins as well as upping some of my joint supplements, one by Young Living, another by KAL. I tried a couple brands of bone broth powders and Vital Proteins won out. I’ve been using it for months now and have seen vast improvement in my digestion overall, my skin (which was a disaster), my nails and hair, and my joints. I’ve not been sick near as much either, by the way.

Anyway, I did not mean to expound as I have, but when I recommend a product it’s not because I have an agenda or commission. I want to see people empowered to live healthy, find healing to their bodies with proper nutrition, and live well all around. For me, I will choose quality over quantity every single time, and this product is quality.
